A Soupy Memory

I, like a lot of you, was one of voices that stayed mute at Saturday's memorial for Soupy. Not that I couldn’t come up with a fond memory I wanted share but I couldn’t overcome the little voice in my head telling me that I simply couldn’t, ever, under any circumstances stand up in front of “that many people” and talk. Oh my gosh, “I’d be so embarrassed that I would say something wrong.” You know the feeling.
Anyway after Kjell and I came home we were recounting Soupy's fantastic memorial service to our son. He remembered the special jacket Soupy had given him when he was little and told us that he wished that he had been there…he said he would have stood up and thanked Soupy for this little sweet memory….a jacket that will never fit him again but will always fit into his memory of Soupy. Our son, TJ now.....
